I just created and embedded a calendar for us to use in planning and such. It's a Google Calendar, and if you comment here and leave your gmail address, I'll add editing privledges for you. That way we can keep track of not only planning for things, but actual events at conferences as well...like our Podcast schedule, for instance.
Hiya, I just finished adding all the LITA sponsored preconferences and conference events (that I know about) to the Calendar. **and I remembered to set the correct time zone (Mountain) to save on the screams of anguish**
Hiya, I just finished adding all the LITA sponsored preconferences and conference events to the Calendar.
I also took the liberty of adding the major ALA Governance events (ALA Membership meetings, ALA & ALA-APA Council meetings, ALA Presidential Program, and ALA Couoncil Forums) for people interested in seeing how the sausage is made.
I strongly encourage people who have time available to attend *at the very least* the two ALA Membership meetings. Sure, they can be dry and/or boring at times; but when people show up and show support for efforts to move ALA forward, these efforts really need to be supported. If something comes up and is successfully forwarded to Council, Council *must* consider and deliberate it.
ALA is a member-driven association, be sure you're at the Membership Meeting to support stuff you feel should go forward and stop stuff you feel is ephemeral or a waste of resources.
Aaron, thanks so much! This is a really crazy useful calendar now...if you use gCal, you can add BIGWIG to your calendar list and copy events over to your personal calendar if you want to build your schedule for Annual.
